Anyone know of any quality books on rearing social imprints?

Shaun,

Just as a matter of interest, what are you going to imprint?

I have never seen a book on imprinting, but Nick Fox's book "Understainding the Bird of Prey" contains the best description of how imprinting works and the time scales for involuntary learing phases.

But never seen a book on how to handle imprinted birds, i think VERY VERY carefully springs to mind :)

Happy Hunting

I Agree "Carefully" probably sums it up completely.

I've been flying with a friend of mine on and off and he has 2 Gyr/Saker male social imprints, both from separate breeders, both are brilliant hunters but one is silent and the other screams like a banshee all day. Obviously the different rearing techniques have had different results (or maybe by chance).

I'm hoping to imprint a female Gyr/Pere this year and would like to reduce the chance of vocalisation.
