Hows everyones season going, Ive done quite well so far, 9 rabbits 3 hen pheasants and a magpie with 2 male Harris's and 2 jackdaws with a newly entered Lanner/Saker. Hope my luck holds out!! Shaun
Well after a great start, and hi hopes for a great season (flying male Harris in second season) things seem to have taken a bit of a dive with little to boast about in the last month. Things have been made difficalt with the main land I fly on now rearing Game birds in a barn slap bang in the middle. I'm desperate to team up with someone with a ferret to get some good slips. If anyone can help me in the Bristol/Bath area it would be greatly appreciated.
Have had some encouragement over the last couple of weeks as the game birds were being raised for the xmas tale i think, anyway they have moved on and I can fly Jaza without the worry of him nailing the farmers stock.
However today Ive had a small set back, that is that after a good fly yesterday I put him away for the night in a travel box, and when i got him out this morning he seemed fine untill i went to get him in the afternoon. He was not himself, could not fly, and was sitting with his left wing slightly extended, and keeps it away from the body. someone has sugested that he may have damaged his wing as he enters his box with a lot of enthusiasm and it caught a frost, but the wing looks fine and not inflamed or hot. Ill try to get to a vet tomorrow, in the meantime ive fed him up and bought him in the warm. Anyone had a similar problem, his weight is fine, and overall health seems fine.
