For a long time now I’ve thought about getting a bird. I’ve bought some falconry books and videos but out of the 3 birds recommended the Buzzard, Red tailed buzzard and the Harris hawk I don’t know which one would be the most appropriate for a beginner please could you help me.
It is true any of these 3 would suit a beginner, however, I would wholeheartedy reccomend a Harris Hawk for many reasons.
They are the most forgiving, you can actuallly build a relationship with a Harris due to their gregarious nature, you will easily be able to fly with other falconers easily, and they are the least aggresive to humans generally.
A Harris is in short, I beleive the best beginners bird.
