Dan all i can say m8 is get your head into a load of books ,talk to people and go on a course as for getting a peregine id start with a harris hawk or an owl you need to learn how to keep a bird first doing the hunting takes years of experience ,if you dont have people to help you with hands on .

Hope it helps m8

Thinking you can start off on the basics wont, work m8 ive spent 2k and ive only got an owl ,better to walk before you can run ,think of the bird and is it a faze or is it a hobby that may take 30 years of doing the same thing everyday .

All the best

wowser thanks for the warm welcome "not anouther one" really nice of u (NOT). I have got a cpl of books in hand a few by emma ford and was looking through one called the art and practice and in there it dose mension that u need a license for sum birds thats why i asked about that and as for the nice welcome from u, it wouldnt hurt to gide people in the right direction everyone dosnt like new comers but its the new comers thats going to hurt the hobby in the end if not doing it right so dont u think you should help as best as u can, cause I do.
Johnny thanks for the info m8 like i just said there i have got a cpl of books by emma ford and I am busy reading through them and looking for info on the net, its gr8 that atleast one person is willing to help a new hand, I like the look of a peregine thats why i wanted one fo them at first, but I will think of a harris, sorry for going on but its all out now, thanks for ur help.

Dan Just keep up the reading m8 thats all ive done really im no expert ,i type on here sometimes if im stuck ,most of the lads are quite decent  you get the odd muppet ,but so is life ,lol.

If you,ve got your heart and soul on a peregrine go for it ,it would,nt be my first bird to start off with but who am i to judge ,with the books ive read they say the harris is a good bird to start off with ,ive got a book called (The Harris Hawk) its by Lee William Harris its a good read and it goes into all detail on how to keep it to the training ?

All the best

Johnny
